Nordic Pole Walking
This activity is provided to us by VON. Presently they are walking at Elmvale Heritage Park Wednesday mornings at 9:30 a.m.
This total body, low-impact workout provides cardio training and muscle strengthening in one exercise. It reduces high blood pressure, activates 90% of the body’s muscles, promotes an upright posture and strengthens the core—an effective management exercise for chronic conditions such as diabetes, arthritis, and neuromuscular and cardio-related diseases. VON provides the poles and instructions for beginners. VON instructors accompany every group. Everyone is encouraged to go at the pace that best suits their needs.
