PARKING LOT

SNOW REMOVAL FROM PARKING LOT

We realize the amount of snow that has accumulated over the last month or two has overtaken our parking. Due to several snowfalls over a few days, the snow got so deep that our snow remover couldn’t move it any further.

If he did, it would cost us $175/hr for about five or six hours work, $875 +tax.

The Board has decided to wait it out. The weather is improving. The other alternative to parking in our lot is parking down in the beach’s lot.

Sorry for any inconvenience. We can discuss at the General Meeting next Tuesday.

Christmas Luncheon

Christmas Luncheon at Bay Shore

A Joyous Conclusion to Our 50th Anniversary Celebrations

Event Recap

The grand finale of our 50th Anniversary year was a vibrant and heartfelt Christmas Luncheon, thoughtfully conceived by Lynn Davis. Held on Thursday, December 18th at Bay Shore, this special gathering welcomed over 95 attendees, marking a joyful culmination to our milestone celebrations. The event was filled with laughter, warmth, and the unmistakable spirit of togetherness that defines our community.

Festive Decorations and Warm Atmosphere

Our deepest gratitude goes to Anita Schrepfer and her talented team of Secret Santas, who transformed the hall into a festive wonderland adorned with boughs of holly and holiday cheer—fa la la la la, la la la la! Guests arrived in their finest holiday attire, eager to celebrate, reconnect, and create new memories. A special shout-out to our ever-energetic Pickleball players, who not only helped with the table setup but also earned the playful distinction of being the most likely to play pickleball with Santa himself!

Memorable Moments and Heartfelt Thanks

  • Santa’s Visit: The afternoon sparkled with joy thanks to our Ho Ho Hilarilarious and Jolly Santa, Peter James, whose laughter and good cheer delighted everyone. His Elf, Lorri Watson, captured precious moments throughout the celebration, and these photos will soon be available on our Website.
  • Spirit Guides: Special thanks to Norm McLaughlin and Sandy McLoughlin for keeping spirits bright and festive. While dreaming of a “white” Christmas, they reminded us all that there’s always “red”— along with a special Christmas cocktail featuring Egg Nog, Rum, and a splash of Baileys Cream to kick off the festivities.
  • Welcoming Committee: Sharon Buchy and Greig Stewart greeted each guest with genuine warmth, much like a comforting cup of hot chocolate on a chilly winter’s day.
  • Share the Wealth Christmas Gnomes: Our elf-tastic team, Dee Colton and Elaine Stevenson, made the event extra special with their holiday spirit and generosity.
  • Grace: We are grateful to Rev. Marg Robertson for her humble and gracious words, which blessed our meal and gathering.
  • Delicious Feast: A heartfelt thank you to Nica Hammill and her Festive-luscious crew for preparing a mouthwatering turkey dinner and ensuring everyone was well served, from clearing tables to handling dishes with care.
  • Dancing and Music: The talented Marty Carlise provided lively music that kept everyone dancing and the energy high, ensuring a memorable time for all.

Our Bay Shore Community

None of this would have been possible without the joyful presence of our Bay Shore Merry-makers. Your enthusiasm, participation, and community spirit made the luncheon truly special and an event to remember for years to come.

As one member beautifully put it, “Bay Shore is medicine for the soul.” We encourage everyone to take a generous dose and carry the spirit of this wonderful luncheon into the new year. Here’s to many more joyous occasions together!
