Duplicate Bridge

If you are interested in starting up Duplicate Bridge at Bay Shore, please join us tomorrow/today, Wednesday, February 7th, @ 4:00 p.m. to discuss a day, time, and supplies we need. We have a member who will convene and a member who has supplies he is offering us, so we can see where we go from there.

Varathaning Main Hall

Bill and his crew will be varathaning the main floor (weather permitting) on Saturday, February 18th and Sunday, the 19th, and they will let it dry on Monday, February 20th. NOBODY WALK ON THE FLOOR AT THIS TIME. Thank you!
Bill and Art will put little feet on the bottom of the chairs so we don’t continue to damage the floors by dragging them.
Pickleball is cancelled for Sunday, February 19th. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Food Handlers Certification

We have a great group of members interested in taking the Food Handler Course for Bay Shore. Sandy Baker has picked up the manuals for us. You can either pick up your manual at the Club this week or if I see you, I will pass it forward.
We have a few members who will be away in February and are interested in the group discussion; we would like to schedule this for Wednesday, March 13th, at 11:00 a.m.
Feb GM – Tues., Feb. 13 @ 2:00

Dino Pangrazzi, from our Tiny Township Fire Department, will join us for the first half of our meeting to talk about Lithium battery safety, evacuation drills, CO/smoke alarms and the free Home Fire Safety Audit available through Tiny Fire.
Please join us and welcome Dino (who is very entertaining in his own right) to our General Meeting at 2:00 p.m.
If you wish to discuss anything at the GM, call the office or email me at info@bayshoreseniors.ca, and we will add your item to our agenda.
Thank you,
Lorri
Duuplicate Bridge

We now have a Convenor and enough people interested in starting Duplicate Bridge. Next, we need to find a time that would work for most players and doesn’t conflict with our schedule.
If you are interested in playing, please join us next Wednesday, February 7th, @ 4:00 p.m. to discuss the day, time and supplies we need. We have a member who has supplies he is offering us, so we can see where we go from there.

Duplicate Bridge + Food Handling
Duplicate Bridge
We have heard from five people interested in playing Duplicate Bridge; one is willing to be our Convenor. She and two other friends are interested in playing as well. If anyone else who has not come forward is interested, please do so. Then, we can see if there is enough interest to proceed.
We can then discuss setting up a time slot for the game and see what we need to purchase to start it up. Kitchen Bridge will continue to be played on Wednesday afternoons. Once enough people are interested in playing, we can advertise and see if we get more to participate.
Food Handlers Certification
We offered a group study session to review the manual and bounce questions off one another. To date, I have heard from three members. Before we set a date, are there other members interested in attending this group discussion?
Thanks for getting back to me as soon as possible.

Starting the New Year With a Bang
Valentine’s Game and Cribbage Afternoon!
Sue Millington is at it again. She’s planning another game afternoon on Thursday, February 15th, at 1:00 p.m. The theme for this game’s afternoon is to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Mark your calendar so you don’t miss out on a fun afternoon – darts, bridge, bid-euchre, Mexican train, cribbage, pool, and our delicious rotisserie hot dogs and a refreshing beverage.
Along with our usual games, we will have tables for Cribbage. The rules will be there. Several members have indicated an interest in playing. Here’s your opportunity to see if you wish to start an afternoon or evening of Cribbage at Bay Shore.
Join in the fun on the 15th of February and support your Club and Sue.
Duplicate Bridge
Some members want to start “Duplicate Bridge” at Bay Shore. If you are interested, please email info@bayshoreseniors.ca or call 705-361-1331 and let us know if this is something you would like to see start-up. I believe we have a member interested in convening. We will find a day to start it up in our schedule if there is enough interest.
Line Dancing
Due to a lack of member participation, Line Dancing is cancelled as of the 11th of January.
Yoga
We are looking to start up Yoga once again. We have heard from members that they would like yoga classes to continue all year. We are in the process of finding a certified instructor; therefore, there may be an extra fee to participate.
Salt
Thank you to the member spreading salt on the landing and steps outside. However, we must ask you to please not use the salt in the yellow bucket outside. That salt is for asphalt only. You need to use the salt just inside the door to your left. When you use the salt from the yellow bucket on the cement, it breaks it down. Thank you for your effort.
Food Bank
Let’s start the new year by donating to the Food Bank regularly. If each person brought in one item when they attended the General Meeting or $2.00 to $5.00 a month, that would be a great offering each month from Bay Shore. The food bank is always in need of the following items:
- Peanut butter.
- Canned soup.
- Canned fruit.
- Canned vegetables.
- Canned stew.
- Canned fish.
- Canned beans.
- Pasta (most prefer whole grain)
Thank you,
Lorri

Sorry for any inconvenience; we look forward to seeing you back on the 12th.
We hope you had a great New Year.

Duplicate Bridge

BRIDGE: After sending out the Newsletter about Duplicate Bridge, we have heard from some members who may be interested in playing.
Please send an email to info@bayshoreseniors.ca letting us know you are interested. We will then meet to see if we can get anyone to Convene, whether we continue Kitchen Bridge, and what time slot we can fit you into. We will also need to know any startup costs that the Club would provide.
Thank you for getting back to us soon. If you can’t send an email, call the office at 705-361-1331.
