Starting the New Year With a Bang

Valentine’s Game and Cribbage Afternoon!

Sue Millington is at it again. She’s planning another game afternoon on Thursday, February 15th, at 1:00 p.m. The theme for this game’s afternoon is to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Mark your calendar so you don’t miss out on a fun afternoon – darts, bridge, bid-euchre, Mexican train, cribbage, pool, and our delicious rotisserie hot dogs and a refreshing beverage.

Along with our usual games, we will have tables for Cribbage. The rules will be there. Several members have indicated an interest in playing. Here’s your opportunity to see if you wish to start an afternoon or evening of Cribbage at Bay Shore.

Join in the fun on the 15th of February and support your Club and Sue.

Duplicate Bridge

Some members want to start “Duplicate Bridge” at Bay Shore. If you are interested, please email info@bayshoreseniors.ca or call 705-361-1331 and let us know if this is something you would like to see start-up. I believe we have a member interested in convening. We will find a day to start it up in our schedule if there is enough interest.

Line Dancing

Due to a lack of member participation, Line Dancing is cancelled as of the 11th of January.

Yoga

We are looking to start up Yoga once again. We have heard from members that they would like yoga classes to continue all year. We are in the process of finding a certified instructor; therefore, there may be an extra fee to participate.

Salt

Thank you to the member spreading salt on the landing and steps outside. However, we must ask you to please not use the salt in the yellow bucket outside. That salt is for asphalt only. You need to use the salt just inside the door to your left. When you use the salt from the yellow bucket on the cement, it breaks it down. Thank you for your effort.

Food Bank

Let’s start the new year by donating to the Food Bank regularly. If each person brought in one item when they attended the General Meeting or $2.00 to $5.00 a month, that would be a great offering each month from Bay Shore. The food bank is always in need of the following items:

  • Peanut butter.
  • Canned soup.
  • Canned fruit.
  • Canned vegetables.
  • Canned stew.
  • Canned fish.
  • Canned beans.
  • Pasta (most prefer whole grain)

Thank you,

Lorri
