Date of August Annual General Meeting (AGM)

N O T I C E :

The correct date for our August Annual General Meeting (AGM) is Tuesday, August 8th, at 2:00 pm. All General Meetings are on the 2nd Tuesday of the month.

Sorry, once again, for the wrong date. I DO try to get the dates right!

July General Meeting

JULY GENERAL MEETING
Tuesday, July 11th, at 2:00 pm
Please join us for:
Q&A and Discussion Period explaining changes to our Constitution.

Please bring the handout on the Constitution you received at last month’s general meeting for discussion. If you don’t have the handout, don’t worry; we have several original Constitution Booklets available.

We require 50 members to attend our August Annual General Meeting to have a quorum to vote on the changes. Please attend Bay Shore’s July General Meeting to show your support. We need YOU there in August to vote!

It’s vital to the Club to get a Recording Secretary to continue. There must be at least one member willing to be elected to this position. Take that leap of faith to help keep Bay Shore Seniors alive and well.

BBQ tickets are available for purchase. The sales are not doing well. Come on out and support your Club. Chat with your friends, have a drink, listen to some good music and best of all, you don’t have to cook dinner. All for just $25 per person. You will enjoy a Chicken Breast or Smoked Pork Chop, Roast Potatoes, Veggies, Salad, Roll and Butter, and a selection of pies. Don’t forget to bring your money to purchase your tickets. This event is open to non-members of friends.

Sandy and her Membership Committee will set up a table to take membership renewal or applications. The fee is $25.00 unless you are a new applicant and need to get a badge.

We need to think about this next trip Travel has scheduled. As we had to cancel the “Perfect Wedding” trip in August, we are asking Balm Beach, Prime Time, and the new Elmvale Seniors Association if they would like to participate in our next trip in September to get this one off the ground.

Don’t forget that delicious cake Willi picks up for us every month; that’s always a nice pick-me-up treat in the middle of the day, wouldn’t you say?

See you on Tuesday!

Travel News

Enjoy your first long weekend of the summer!!

This is a reminder of the morning trip to St. Jacobs Market, a very yummy lunch and an afternoon of belly laughs at the theatre to see “A Perfect Wedding.” The cut-off for signing up is Thursday, July 6ᵗʰ as we have to confirm the numbers to the restaurant and the theatre.

We need at least 35 for the trip and have less than ½ of that now. If we do not get any interest, the trip will be cancelled.

Call your friends and family to see if they want to join you and us on the trips!

The trip to the Tunnel in Niagara Falls still has seats left and another month for you to sign up.
It will also be cancelled if we do not get the numbers (40) for this trip.

Please give one of the Travel Committee members a call to reserve your seat soon. We sure would like to see you on the bus!

A shout-out to those who have signed up already, we thank you for supporting us and the club.

Another Successful Games and Social Afternoon!

Once again, we had a successful Games and Social Afternoon!

A huge thank you to Lynn for spending her afternoon cooking and serving hot dogs. The hot dogs and Sandy B’s onions were a big hit!

I want to thank all the volunteers who helped —-Lynn, Sandy, Norm, Kim, Sandy Mc, Caroline, Carol, and Judy. If I missed anyone, I apologize. Please just put it down to a seniors moment.

Thanks also go out to those who stopped and helped put out tables and chairs for

BINGO this coming Monday. See you there

Sue & Terry Millington

P.S. I’ve heard great feedback from members I’ve spoken to. The hot dogs were delicious – Lynn, you and Sandy B missed your calling 😉 Everyone had fun playing their games and chatting with one another. Maybe we can convince Sue, her dart, and spare volunteers to have another in September. Next time, I hope I don’t have another commitment and get to join the fun. Without you, it wouldn’t have been such a success! Thank you, members, for coming out and supporting YOUR Club. Lorri

Games and Social Afternoon

June General Meeting Very Important

General Meeting June 11th at 2:00 pm

Our Constitution pre-committee and the Constitution Committee have worked very hard over the past three months to get our Constitution updated into the 21st Century. They will be handing out the revisions that you presented to them last month. If there is something you wish to EDIT, you have one more opportunity. You can’t add changes, only EDIT changes to what is being presented at our General Meeting June 13th.

Your revisions MUST be emailed before General Meeting July 11th meeting. That is your last chance to edit. At our ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING August 8th, we will have three (3) scrutineers to take your private vote. This is a very important meeting – all must attend if you wish your voice to be heard.

And; I hear the Executive Board have a very special treat for those who take time out of their busy schedule to show us how important Bay Shore Seniors Club is to YOU at our Annual General Meeting. This part of the meeting is going to be lots of fun, and fulfilling to your tummy!

Send edit via email to: Carol cehackney2017@gmail.com; Peggy Hawthorn phawthorn@bell.net; or Lynn Davis bayshoreseniors@gmail.com.

The second trip Wednesday, September 13th is a visit to the “The Tunnel” at the historic Niagara Parks Power Station to view the newly constructed “Horseshoe Falls”, full course luncheon, and a stop enroute at Forty Creek Distillery for $189.00 per person.

Please see Marilyn, Betty, Debbie or Susan in the Craft Room to purchase your tickets and get more information on these two trips.
