Bay Shore Staying Closed One More Week

It is a tough call. We have been doing well not spreading CoVid. After questioning the Conveners, the split was 70/30 to stay closed one more week. I feel confident we are doing the right thing, especially after watching the news this evening. Get your 4th vax as soon as possible to help protect yourself.
We will reopen the week of April 25th! Assess your level of comfort. If you aren’t ready, please don’t come in. All protocols will stay in place, masks worn at all times, and keeping two feet distance except for strenuous exercise.

1ST Guest Speaker Series at LifeStyles in 2022

The Georgian Bay Cancer Support Centre is North Simcoe’s only centre and the first rural cancer support centre in Ontario, founded in 2011. Its mission is to provide emotional, physical, social, and spiritual support, education, and information to complement the medical system for people affected by cancer.
Eric Walters became Executive Director of the GBCSC in April 2021. He, like everyone, has been impacted by cancer. He has seen its impact on family members and experienced first-hand losing a household member to cancer in his youth. He is passionate about building this local resource for those in our community to benefit.
Please join us at LifeStyles on April 13th at 9:30 to welcome Eric Walters, Executive Director of GBCSC and hear about their strides in our community to help people affected with cancer.
Coffee and snacks at 9:00. Our guest speaker will start at 9:30.

Straight Talk

Many Canadians were shocked to see the scenes of furious protesters on the streets of Ottawa and the blockades of border crossings across the country. Citizens concerned about vaccines have gone so far as to block access to hospital emergency rooms, protest in front of schools and propose overturning the federal government. Groups have channelled their anger online against religious groups, women, First Nations and even their neighbours. It’s so un-Canadian, or is it?
Why are we so angry? Caustic and sometimes violent attacks are being made against the media, doctors, scientists, politicians, and democratic institutions.
What is underlying these over-the-top emotions? What does it augur for our future as a society and a country? What needs to be done about it?

The Trip Is a Go!
The excitement is mounting. We are going to the Shaw Festival Theatre in Niagara-On-The-Lake to our “Gold” Orchestra seats.
We sold 35 tickets!
Do you know what that means? Right, we are going, Coach! Excellent comfy seats, lower step up, and a washroom!
If you’ve been sitting on the fence trying to decide whether to go or not, here’s your chance. The traveller’s committee has three seats left – don’t be sorry and left behind.
Please make your cheque payable to Bay Shore Seniors Travel for $193.00 no later than General Meeting – April 12th, 2022. The show date is May 26th.
We are very excited. Our first trip in over two and a half years will be sensational!
