Donating to the Red Cross Ukrainian Crisis Appeal

We’ve now stepped into April, and it’s time to start donating to the Ukraine Emergency Appeal through the Red Cross with our Food Bank and our 50/50 until the end of May.

For the Food Bank, it will be monetary donations only (cash or cheque). No Food. Food donations will still go to the Elmvale and Wasaga Food Bank as usual so continue bringing that in as well.

Instead of half of the 50/50 going to the Club, we would like to donate that portion. The Red Cross was matching donations until they reached $30,000,000. And this has already been achieved. They aren’t sure whether the Government will offer matching contributions again, but we feel Red Cross is a great organization to support Ukraine.

Thank you for your anticipated support of this emergency appeal.

Update for Library

June Craggs, Renate Koenig and Claude Richardson are asking for books for the library that are NOT older than 2005, give or take a few years. It depends on the book’s condition and whether it’s in the library already, i.e., James Patterson. If you have older in new condition books,  bring them in for our Book Nook.

We are also looking for DVDs and Audible books if you have any that aren’t too old.

Thank you,

June, Renate and Claude

Additional members missed, or members who just signed up:
Sheila Brown                                June Craggs                                   Steve McKeown                                Marilyn Ruse                                                                            Sandy  Gibbs                                 Beth Coe                                         Pat Crouse                                         Marion Zammit

Sorry, the list is so messy. I had perfect rows when I produced it! If I have missed anyone, please let me know at info@bayshoreseniors.ca as soon as you can.

What do you think of this list Cheryl Kizoff? Very exciting. Do you have any idea how many you can take for your class in the Main Hall at Bay Shore? I believe we can fit about 20 – 24 members.

Cheryl, is there anything the ladies should bring with them other than water?

Thank you once again,

Hug A Mug – Is A Very Nice Way To Start Your Day!

Our 1st “Hug A Mug” event was very successful. Some members came out to our lovely cafe at Bay Shore Seniors, which Lynn set up. We had some conversation starters in case the conversation lagged. We got to one question only as we were so busy gabbing, “What was the best gift you have given.” We all got stumped except Marg.

Now, as I sit back and write this, my best gift was Mom’s Kindle reader. She finally got out of the softcovered books and into the reader, which she loves.

Drop-in next time this popup cafe opens, Saturday, March 26th, and give it a try!

Thank you, Lynn; it was lots of fun.

“HUG A MUG”

Save the Date for Our Health’s “Will the Kids be OK?”

Our three panellists interact with children and youth in three settings: recreation, health and school. They are all passionate about the well-being of our kids. Join us at the Club on April 7th, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. The panellists will be discussing how kids have coped during the pandemic and then project what re-engagement might look like as Covid restrictions relax.

This program will be aired LIVE on all Simcoe County Rogers TV stations and available online for streaming. Additional information for in-person attendance and free registration will follow in mid-March.

This looks very interesting, of course, most of Our Health’s programmes are very informative.

If you wish to view this at the Bay Shore Club, in the Main Hall, please vote +yes, or -no.

Thank you,

Lorri
