Our Activites Are Thriving!
We had a record number of members playing Darts this week. VON Smart Exercise is three weeks into September, and it is continually growing. Shuffleboard had 19 people attend again this week. There were many hoots and cheers, with Ryan and Dee achieving 50s. Pickleball has been busy for most of their time slots. All activities are going well.
We need to continue working on our Gentle Yoga. We had four attendees on their first of six weeks. Some of you were interested in participating but could not attend the first class. Join us this week, Tuesday, September 24th at 10:30 am.
We will start playing Cribbage on Thursday nights in October. Keep your eyes open for Elbast details soon.

Decorating Cupboards
Our wonderful volunteers, Lina, Marilyn, Anita, Sue, and Lynn, have thoroughly reviewed and cleaned up all our decorations. You will have to take a look next time you’re in. You won’t believe it. The decorating committee will have a better idea of what we do have available.
We will display items we thought members might be interested in at the Thursday, October 8th, General Meeting in the Craft Room. After that, we will donate the rest to Marilyn’s Church Bazaar.
October is the perfect time to think about your Christmas needs.
Again, thank you to Lina, Marilyn, Anita, Sue, and Lynn. It was an ugly job that had been needed for some time but that none of us wanted to tackle until now. Bravo! Thank you!

Activities At Bay Shore
I was pleasantly surprised at the number of members who showed up for VON Smart Exercises and Shuffleboard last Friday.
I was excited to see Shirley Richardson, Rosemary Stefano, Marg Riordon, and our regulars attending VON Smart Exercise.
Shuffleboard had 19 attendees. Five (5) new Shuffleboard players were present, even though a few of their regular players were missing.
Great start to our Fall Season! Let’s keep it up.
Thank you,
Lorri
Contest: New Logo of Bay Shore

A few members have been wanting to use our logo. BS Club! I know that some of you are not happy with our name.
Therefore, I want to offer you a contest to see if you can create a new logo or a tagline for our 50th Anniversary. Our tagline currently reads: Senior… just a #. You can create a logo, a slogan, or a more creative way of using BS Club. You can make something with BSSC (Bay Shore Seniors Club) or BSC.
You can tackle whatever part you wish, even if you want to create the whole thing. We will award the winner $30.00.
What do you think? Could you come up with something that we could be proud of? We can review the suggestions at our General Meeting in October and November.
We’ve got some very talented members, so give it a try.
We are also in talks with Woodcarving and Access Art about cleaning up our large Bay Shore Seniors Club sign at the front of our building. We need to figure out how to get her down. If you have any brilliant ideas, I’d love to hear them.

As Good Canadian’s

Norm, Lynn, and I took the flag to a little fire pit. We unfolded it nicely and gave it a ceremony. It was almost like sending the flag’s spirit up into the sky.
Sandy purchased a new flag when the gardeners noticed how badly it looked and took it down for us.
Thank you to all,
Lorri
Our Red Headed Woodpecker
Exciting News? Our red-headed woodpecker has found his way home. I am thrilled to hear that we have outstanding members after all.

Don bought us this beautiful cabinet to showcase our woodcarvers’ award-winning, attractive work and their talent. Don has purchased door locks and will install them once they are received. We can put our woodcarvers’ work back on display.
We have placed the cabinet against the Access Art wall of their magnificent paintings and moved some over to the attached wall to give continuity. This way, people coming into the Club can’t see it from the Main Hall; you must walk through the lounge. It flows well between the crafts, access art, and woodcarving.
Thanks again, Don, for acting quickly to get us a cabinet with doors and a lock.

Cleaning Out Decorating Cabinets
We have selected Tuesday, September 17th, at 11:30 a.m., after Gentle Yoga, as the time to get together and clean out the cabinets.
We would love your help. You might even find something you want to make a home for. More hands do less work.
Thank you in advance for volunteering.

General Meeting
Good morning!
Today is our General Meeting at 2:00 p.m.
Debbie and the Travel Committee will be in the craft room to collect your money or complete your trip arrangements for those of you who are travelling. Dee and Mo will be there to purchase our Share the Wealth tickets.
Regarding the Food Bank, what if each member who attends the General Meeting brings in one (1) item? I think that would help with our contributions to the Food Bank. What do you think?
Last but not least, Anita will bring our delicious treats for you to enjoy after attending the meeting.
I’m looking forward to seeing you there.
