As of Wednesday, August 28th, we have over 100 outstanding memberships. This email is going out to all members, so if you have already paid, please disregard it.
As of August 31st, fees will go up to $35.00. This applies to members only who haven’t renewed.
Bay Shore can only be what you make it. We need YOU! Our members help us grow. Next year is our 50th Anniversary, and we want you to be there with us. To celebrate our 50th Anniversary, we will have an event for each month of 2025!
We are in the club’s office on Friday, August 31st, from noon to 3:00 p.m. Please find time to drop your membership off. Thank you!

To those who serve us drinks…
Thank you to our dedicated bartenders, Sandy McLoughlin, Kim Keffer, and Norm McLaughlin, who served drinks at our recent Corn Roast. Without you, we wouldn’t have as much fun at our events—some of us, anyway, speaking for myself. I always enjoy a beverage. Occasionally, it gives me a little oomph in my step. You guys are always a delight to talk to when we drop by for a drink.
I don’t know how I forgot you. Maybe it’s because I only had a glass of wine, perhaps because your names weren’t on my list, or I just plain forgot; anyway…
Thank you for your “special” stock and friendliness.
And, Marg, thank you for always being willing to deliver Grace, even when it’s off the cuff. Your prayer was very fitting for our Corn Roast.

More Travel News!
My Fair Lady, October 23, 2024.
Currently, 23 people have signed up.
We have until September 2nd to reach 30 passengers before we lose our deposit. Shaw Productions requests a fair amount when booking, and we do not want to lose all that money if we do not meet our minimum numbers.
If you are considering joining us or know someone who would also be interested, please call us as soon as possible. We do not want to cancel another trip.

Bridge Cancelled
The bridge will be cancelled this Wednesday, August 21st, as we are having our kitchen countertops installed and feel the noise would be too much for our bridge players.
The bridge will commence once again next Wednesday, August 28th.
I am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, and thank you for understanding.

Walt Stephenson
Once again, I am saddened to advise that after a long illness, Walt passed away peacefully with Elaine at home. He passed at 5:30 pm, Thursday, August 15th, 2024. He had a wonderful visit with his grandson and family over the weekend.
Once Elaine has had a chance to publish an obituary, etc., I will forward it to you.

Corn Roast
Members Only Corn Roast
Well, the numbers are in. We have 54 members attending our Corn Roast on Thursday, August 15th. Happy Hour starts at 5:00, and dinner is at 6:00. Let’s hope for great weather. As of this writing, it’s supposed to be sunny all day and a high of 79.
Please bring food or a monetary donation to our food bank. They need peanut butter, canned tuna, salmon, chicken, beans, canned veggies, pasta and pasta sauce, flour, sugar, and spices. Thank you!
This is a friendly reminder to bring that delicious dessert you love to make and share with our other members. A plate full doesn’t need to be a lot because, hopefully, we will get a great variety from our members. That’s probably one of the best things about our Corn Roast.

David Gregg, PSW
I would like to introduce you to David Gregg, a Personal Support Worker (PSW) who recently joined Bay Shore. He is also offering his services as a PSW for members who need additional help beyond what the Government offers.
For $30.00 an hour, David will come to your home and provide whatever PSW services you need. One of his requirements is to get a “police check” for every new home he goes into. I have a copy of his resume, a picture for anyone interested, and references.

For those unaware, Madaline was one of our Past Presidents, and she is turning 100. Her family sent the above invitation and thought it would be a lovely surprise for her if some who knew her from Bay Shore could attend. It was hard to read, so I’ve written the details below:

Silver Lake Golf & Country Club, 21114 Yonge Street, East Gwillimbury, Ontario; twelve until four o’clock in the afternoon. Speeches are to commence at one o’clock.
A BUFFET LUNCH WILL BE SERVED.
