This and That and Other Things

FLUFFER FOR CHRISTMAS TREE:

Hey members, we have our “woman on the ladder” and her elves, but now we need a “fluffer”. Someone great at sprucing up an artificial Christmas Tree. I think that means putting the decorations on, etc. Please show us your Christmas Spirit and support our decorators on November 28th at 10:00 a.m. Email info@bayshoreseniors.ca or call the Club at 705-361-1331. Thank you.

CRIBBAGE:

Okay, members! We have about half our membership interested in playing Cribbage. The only problem is that no one is interested in Convening. All you have to do is open the Club, take attendance, get the members $2.00, set up tables, put the Crib boards out and select a day and time to play.  I know other members will be willing to help you once you get going. I am certain someone will volunteer to take on this weekly commitment. Give me a shout at info@bayshoreseniors.ca or call 705-361-1331.

UP OFF THE GROUND: Judy Cabell

Caid Thompson runs this organization in Perkinsfield to support the homeless.  He is looking for donations of sleeping bags and winter coats. If you have any winter items to donate, you can bring them to the Club and drop them off when you come to the Volunteer Luncheon, or you can deliver yourself to 177 Balm Beach Road West, Tiny.

We will accept clothes from November 27th through to November 30th. Please DO NOT bring anything before our VOLUNTEER LUNCHEON or after the 30th. Thank you!

CRAFTS:

Looking for that special item for Christmas for that someone who has everything, or you don’t know what to buy? Drop into the Club. There is a lovely display of items that our Crafters have made for sale in the Lounge.

ACCESS ART SIGN:

We now have an Access Art Sign that Mary Hickey from Wood Carving made. It makes the wall look so professionally done with the compilation of beautiful Art pieces.

LIBRARY:

June and Renate are looking for donations of books published after 2005.  They have also received a donation of four boxes of large print books from the Elmvale Library and one box of audiobooks. Drop into our library and check them out.

VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION LUNCHEON:

We look forward to seeing those who have bought tickets for the luncheon on Thursday, November 23rd, at 12:30 p.m. When you arrive, you will receive a complimentary ticket for a wine, beer, or pop.  We will announce our new Life Time Members and Volunteer of the Year. I’m sorry you missed getting a ticket. The cut-off was Friday.

CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON:

We have scheduled our Christmas Luncheon for 12:00 NOON for you, the members. The luncheon is on Thursday, December 14th. Doors open 11:30 for a cocktail or chat; lunch will be served at  NOON. We are serving Turkey dinner with all the fixings prepared by Nica. We have a special guest entertaining us, Adrian Robitaille, playing various Christmas and rock tunes on his guitar. If you haven’t got your ticket, now is the time. We won’t be having another General Meeting before the lunch. Drop in any Tuesday through Friday from noon until 3:00 p.m.The cut-off is December 6th.

Due to the rise in COVID, we ask that you wear a mask when you pick up your food ONLY (all other times, you can remove it). This way, those members who are vulnerable can attend, and we don’t cough, sneeze, etc on the food. If you don’t wish to wear a mask, we will serve you after our masked members have been. Thank you,

Lorri
