Travel News Update
The Celtic Tenors Christmas Trip,
Thursday, December 11th, 2025.
We have good news: we have secured our own bus to take us directly to the venue. The bad news is that it is still an Activity Coach. The company Hammond has stated that they do not use the lowering function in the winter months due to the risk of freezing.
We also need to guarantee 20 passengers for this trip to proceed, and we are currently at 11 travellers. Cost is $219.00 per person, pick up at Bayshore 8:30 am, Elmvale 8:45 am. Driving directly to Myra’s Bar and Grill inside the Best Western, followed by a matinee of the Celtic Tenors at the Sanderson Centre. The show finishes at approx. 4:30 pm, and your return would be around 7:30 pm.
We need to know if those who were interested and signed up will still be attending. For anyone else who would like to go, please get in touch with us. We will need to know by the general meeting on October 14th, 2025, as we must inform the agency to book our tickets, etc. Otherwise, this trip will be cancelled.

Convenors – Call to New Members
We are finally up to date with adding our new members.
We have listed their names on a form, following the activities in which they expressed interest.
You will see on the bulletin board in the Main Hall all the Activities held there. The Sign-In Table in the Craft Room has forms for Crafts, Access Art, Wood Carving, and Book Club. New members interested in Pool are in the Pool room, and Cribbage has a list in the lounge.
You may find that some of these new members have already joined your Activity. When you call, just mention they had indicated on their Application Form that they were interested in your Activity and you were calling to welcome them.
Thank you,
Lorri
Garden Shed Cleaned Up
Karen and Don W, Micheline M, and Scott L. cleaned up the Garden Shed last week.
There may be something interesting at the back of the building that you can find among the items they are getting rid of. Some items are a large pot with a lid, a bowling game, hoses, and a few tools.

Wonderful Bid Euchre Party
Huge Thank You,
Elaine W, Lidia T, and Scott L
Everyone had a wonderful time. The pizza was spot on—the members made a variety of salads. And the pies that Judy H. made were to die for. Outstanding, Yum!
We started our game around 6:30 after cleanup. Everyone was really enjoying themselves. They had a great turnout. I didn’t count, but I would say somewhere between 35 to 40 bid euchre players.
And if that wasn’t enough, as we are leaving a fun evening, Helen M. is handing out her famous raisin and pecan butter tarts. Two to a package. We can never get enough. Delicious! Thank you!
If anyone has any pictures, please send them to me at info@bayshoreseniors.ca. Thank you!
If you haven’t tried Bid Euchre, come out and give it a try.
You may learn something new, and find you enjoy it!

Bay Shore Seniors’ Club Directional Sign
Don Whitfield and Scott Lewis installed our sign at the northwest corner of Crossland Road and Lawson Road. Don will remove the support braces tomorrow, once the cement has dried.
It looks great and stands out. Check it out next time you drive by.

At this time, an “Activity Coach” is being provided for pick up at Bayshore/Elmvale to take you to the Islington Subway station to meet the leading coach. As you can see, the more that wish to go, the lower the price becomes. It would be nice if we could have our own coach and go directly to the venue, and that is something we have asked the tour company for, but at this time, we do not have an answer.
We have requested a regular coach for pickup, as the “Activity Coach” is difficult to access for those with mobility issues.
The price increase from the original brochure is added by the bus line, Hammond.
Your Travel Committee is working hard for you, the members.
Please get in touch with us if you are interested in joining the fun!

Is Your Smart TV Spying on YOU!
How to know if your smart TV is spying on you
I came across this article that I thought you might be interested in. It certainly scared me!
Have you ever wondered how smart TVs are so much more affordable than they used to be? Unfortunately, the answer isn’t that the TV companies are just being nice. The real reason is that smart TVs harvest your data and sell it to third parties.
Whenever you watch a show, download a movie, or buy a new game, your TV is watching you. It collects, processes, and sends that information right back to the TV company so it can be sold to advertisers.
And even worse than that, smart TVs can be vulnerable to hacking by cybercriminals, who can use your TV’s camera and microphone to record you without your knowledge.
I put this guide together to help you take control over how your TV is using your information, prevent smart TV cyber threats, and improve your overall privacy.
