Tues. Sept. 8 – Lunch & Learn

Pathway to Healing

Dr. Farena Pinnock will join us for a lunch-and-learn on Tuesday, September 8 at 12:30 pm.

She will speak about memory changes with ageing, contributing factors, and everyday cognitive functioning.

She is happy to tailor the presentation if there are any topics or questions you would like addressed. If so, please send to info@bayshoreseniors.ca by Wednesday, September 2.

We will meet in the Main Hall, have lunch at 12:30, listen to her presentation from 1:00–2:00, and then hold our September General Meeting at 2:00 pm.

Our members who heard her at the Tiny Symposium earlier this year, raved about her.

Bingo Needs Help With Table Take-Down

Bingo’s last day is Monday, August 31. They will need help taking the tables down on Tuesday, September 1.

If you are willing to volunteer and help out, please contact Kim (905) 952-9266 or Sandy (705) 518-0078. I believe they will want to get it down around 10:30, however when you call them they will tell you the time to meet.

Membership Dues

I was without Internet for over a week, so I didn’t get a reminder out about membership dues for those who haven’t paid.

Therefore, I am extending the $40 up to and including September 4, 2026. As of September 5, to renew membership it will cost $45.00.

New members are $40.00 for the year.

Convenors – September Start Up Dates

It’s that time of year when we start up our activities again.

Please send me the date you’ll be starting up in September. If you won’t be continuing as a Convenor, please ask whether someone in your activity would be interested in volunteering for the role, and let us know.

I want to take a moment to thank our members who came out to our AGM yesterday.

We had a great turnout; 52 members came to our meeting, and we were able to approve the amendments to our By-Laws.

AGM AGENDA WE NEED A QUORUM   I am attaching the Minutes from the 2025 AGM (Annual General Meeting). Please review and bring them with you to our: August AGM Tuesday 11th at 2:00 pm. Download Here. QUORUM We need a QUORUM for our AGM on Tuesday, August 11. Please come out and support your Club, and get the amendments to the By-Law approved. MEMBERSHIP Great time to get your membership fees paid. The fees are presently $40.00. Late fees will be charged after August 31 of $45.00. New member fees will remain at $40.00 throughout the year. We will have a table set up before and after the AGM on Tuesday. AGENDA Call to Order & Welcome: Official opening of the meeting, introductions of presenters. It’s 5 o’clock Somewhere

Minute to Win It

We had a wonderful time, with everyone participating in the games Nadine and Lynn had put together.

In teams we played Beer Bong, without the Beer; a Dice Game; Bouncing Ping Pong Balls across the table into a cup; Building a Kite and see who can throw it the farthest; a Mixed Up Card Deck 1st Team to get them in Order; and putting a Cookie on our forehead without using our hands and get in our mouth. Everyone had so much fun, and laughter trying to beat the other teams.

Lynn cooked up her hotdogs and carmalized onions, which seemed to go quickly – everyone was hungry this time.

Once again, thank you to all who participated and those that volunteered. This time we had a lot more Bay Shore members, than Community.

Wonder what the girls will cook up for our next It’s 5 0’clock Somewhere…   stay tuned!!

2026/2027 Membership Renewal

August is the month to renew memberships.

We are in the office Wednesday and Friday from 12 – 3 pm

The cost is $40.00 this year.

We will have a table for membership at the General Meeting, Tuesday, August 11th.

Deadline is August 31st, then the cost will go up to $45.00.
