YIN YOGA
We had a wonderful group of ladies with us today at our Pop-Up Hatha Yoga class. Everyone who attended enjoyed the class and our excellent instructor, Lyn. She has offered her phone number for anyone with questions to give her a call at any time. She also has online classes throughout the week. If you are interested in looking at those, I will send that information to those who attended class today. Email me at info@bayshoreseniors.ca with Yin Yoga in the subject line, and I will send both off to you.
Our members who attended today’s yoga class enjoyed Lyn’s teaching method and decided to try Yin Yoga. Therefore, Lyn has offered another class next Tuesday, March 12th, at 11:00 a.m. We have our GM at 2:00; however, you have enough time to go home, eat lunch, and return for our meeting.
I look forward to seeing all of you back next week, along with other members who may be interested in exploring this Yoga option.

VON Smart Exercise
The Elmvale VON Smart Exercise class has been cancelled for Friday, March 8th, at 11:00 a.m. We have invited them to our club to do their class. You are also welcome if you are interested in attending the 11:00 class. It will be an excellent opportunity to show off our Club, and maybe one or two might decide to join us.
Our usual VON Smart Exercise class will also be at 9:30 a.m.

So please bring your chequebook!! If you have any questions, you can give anyone on the travel committee a call. Thank you to everyone who helped us get this trip going so we could have our own bus. We couldn’t do it without your help!

Pop-Up Hatha Yoga

I am shocked at the lack of participation in something our members said they wanted. Were they just the members who left last year? Especially when many members attended the Tai Chi at Lifestyles, which we can’t offer at the Club.
I believe you guys would also get many benefits from Hatha Yoga. Can you please try to come out and support your Club, and the activities we are trying to bring you.
We will introduce Hatha Yoga at the beginning of class, then move into Yin Yoga to see if you also like that, along with a meditation at the end. Then, we can decide which Yoga you would like to continue doing here at Bay Shore.
I have seven members who will attend; thank you so much!
I’m not going to ask you to let me know if you are going to attend.
Attending our Pop-Up Yoga will show your SUPPORT. Please bring a Yoga Mat and two hand towels.
Thank you!

Village of Hope
VILLAGE OF HOPE
I am working with a Wasaga Beach group called Village of Hope. They provide lunches, personal hygiene products, socks, hats, mitts, winter coats, etc., twice a week to those in need. It’s run entirely by hard-working volunteers and funded by donations from people who want to help, in some small way, those struggling in this challenging economic climate.
A small group of us are making mats from the 4-litre plastic milk bags. The mats help keep people dry and hopefully give a little comfort when sleeping on the cold, wet ground. We have the knowledge and hands to make the mats, but each one takes at least 400 plastic milk bags!! WE NEED BAGS! I’m asking if you might donate your milk bags. They can be dropped off at the club (I will provide a container in the lobby to put them in).
The process of turning the bags into “plarn” to make the mats is labour intense, so, if, at all possible, I would ask if you could open your bag and allow it to dry on the inside before folding it (or even better, if it smells, if you could give it a quick wash and let it dry). This will save a few steps of washing, drying and then hanging the bags around my home, saving at least 3 hours of labour per 150 bags.
We would appreciate your donations and look at all the plastic we can divert from going into the landfill.
I want to shout out to Amanda at Baker’s Bench in Wasaga Beach, who has a box in her shop where you can drop off your bags. And to Starbucks, who is also helping to fill the box! And if you drop off at Baker’s Bench, Amanda has the most delicious baking for sale: yummy butter tarts, scones & cookies.
Thank you in advance so much for your help …. it does take a Village.
Warm regards,
Judy Cabell
Hello, Fellow Travellers
The Peking Acrobats’
We now have the information to see ‘The Peking Acrobats’ at the Sanderson Centre in Brantford.
Wednesday, March 27th, 2024.
Price: $164.00 Per Person
Buffet Luncheon at Myra’s Gill in Brantford’s Best Western Hotel
Reserved Orchestra Seats
The Peking Acrobats push the limits of human ability, defying gravity with amazing displays of contortions, flexibility and control. They perform their technical prowess in such arts as trick cycling, precision tumbling, juggling, somersaulting and gymnastics. Rooted in centuries of Chinese folk art and history, the troupe’s inspiring acrobatic feats and mesmerizing stage performances continue to leave audiences awestruck!
We have 30 seats reserved and would prefer to have our own bus, which will cut down the travel time by a couple of hours, but we can join the group going out of Toronto if our numbers fall short.
We have to have a definite number submitted by the 27th of February! This does not give us much time to advertise at the club, so if you wish to attend this fantastic show, please call one of the travel committees to get your name on the list. We will make arrangements for payment with you when we get our 30 eager people!

Varathaning Completed
Varathaning the Floor
What a huge three-day weekend for our guys. Along with our regular crew, Bill, Don, Gord, Art and Greg, Phil Hamlet came in in response to our email to help sand. He stayed for the day to help out.
Thank you, Millington’s three (including daughter) and Sandy Baker, for offering your assistance for Sunday. The guys decided that was too much work getting members on their hands and knees, so Don rented a vibrator sander. The concern was our lines for Shuffleboard and Pickleball. It looks like the lines are fine, if not more visible. Phew!
Greg, Don, Gord and Bill returned the furniture and inspected the floor for any missed spots that needed to be touched up.
Lynn dropped in Sunday and took over the vacuuming. She also went next door and got coffee and a treat to tie the guys over.
What a fabulous job. I went over to take a look. It really looks beautiful.
Thank you very much, Greg, Don, Gord, Bill, Phil and Lynn. A huge job was completed. And, thank you, Sandy and our Millington three, for offering your assistance.
