Waiver, Freezer and Craft Room

If any of our Convenors or members are giving a waiver to someone who is visiting for a workshop or learning bridge, etc, PLEASE hand them the waiver only. They don’t need the membership application unless they are becoming a member. The waivers are in a folder near our mailboxes, next to the handicapped washroom.
FREEZER

Actual One Not Shown. We have removed the freezer from the bar to give them more room. It has only been used to hold ice. It is available to anyone who can find a home for it.
CRAFT ROOM
We are in the process of giving equal space in the lounge to Crafts, Access Art and Wood Carving to display their workmanship. This would be a great time to meet with a couple of members from each group after the General Meeting on November 14th to discuss how we can organize and share the Craft Room between the three activities. Please let me know who will be attending from your group by sending an email to info@bayshoreseniors.ca.
Thank you,
Lorri
Halloween Games and Social
What a terrific afternoon we had at our Halloween Games and Social on Thursday. Most members dressed in costume and looked amazing. Sue decorated the Club for us with Dracula, Witches, broomsticks, etc she created. Thank you to those who helped assemble everything within a 1/2 hour before the games began. It was spectacular. We had ‘Darts,’ ‘Mexican Train,’ and ‘Bid Euchre’ going while others socialized with one another. The bar did very well; thank you, Kim and Norm.
However…
The Star of the Show was Sue’s
Yummy Mummy Hot Dog Plate

which consisted of a Yummy Mummy Hot Dog with googly eyes, cut-off fingers with blood gushing out the end, broomsticks held together with chives and a creepy cupcake on a bewitching plate. You are very creative, Sue! Thank you! We all had a wonderful afternoon.
Beginner or Intermediate Art Workshop

Lyn, our instructor, can lead anyone to discover their inner artist. All she needs is for you to be interested. She has taught many different groups, from absolute beginners to artists looking to improve their work for selling.
Lyn has been a painter since she was a child – she was taught formally from the age of nine by a Canadian landscape painter who happened to be her grandmother. She studied fine art at OCA and Toronto School of Art and has painted in most mediums, including acrylic, oil, tempura and encaustic.
Lyn can put something together for a workshop, but we need to find out what medium you want to try: acrylic, watercolour, tempura, pencil, etc. How many of our members would be interested? We can discuss how many classes or whether this would be a one-off workshop. The cost would probably be around $15.00 for members and $25.00 for non-members.
If this is a workshop you would be interested in trying, email us at info@bayshoreseniors.ca or call the office at 705-305-0063 and let us know what medium you would be interested in trying or any questions you may have.
Thank you,
Lorri
CoVid Is Continuing to Rear It’s Ugly Head

SANITIZING YOUR HANDS when you come in to Bay Shore Seniors Club is now mandatory. We have three machines, one at each entrance door, and one as you walk into the main washrooms, along with many of the small sanitizers in all areas of the Club.
Also, if you are not feeling well; PLEASE! don’t come to the Club. In the last week someone in our community (not at Bay Shore) went to an event not feeling well. Turns out six or seven people at the same event came down with COVID.
So please, to protect yourself, and your Club; stay home!
Thank you,
Lorri
Commercial Snow Removal

COMMERCIAL SNOW REMOVAL: Good morning, members! We desperately need a snow removal service for our Club’s property. Please let me know if you know anyone who works in our area and can help us. They must have Commercial Insurance. Send an email to info@bayshoreseniors.ca or call 705-361-1331. It’s getting so close to winter, and I can’t find anyone who does this area.
BILLY BISHOP GOES TO WAR: We have one (1) ticket available for anyone interested in attending the award-winning Canadian musical that brought audiences leaping to their feet. It plays at the Midland Cultural Centre on Saturday, November 11, 2023! The cost of the ticket was $45.00, however a discount is being offered. Please email info@bayshoreseniors.ca or call 705-361-1331 if you are interested in purchasing.
Thank you, Lorri
FREE Energy Symposium
An informative Energy Symposium, Thursday, October 19th at 6:00 p.m. at the Recplex. Considering upgrading your heating or air conditioning, this would be a great time to get no-pressure information in a relaxed atmosphere from your friend, Ron Skully, a member of Bay Shore. He will have an exhibit representing Blaze Mechanical.
