Are You Ready!

It’s almost time for Chair Yoga. You don’t need to bring anything except yourselves and maybe some water. We will be starting at 10:00 am Tuesday, April 5th, 2022, with our lovely teacher Cheryl, so drop into the Club about 15 minutes early to get registered.

We have a list of those who have registered. Drop by the sign-in station, get your name checked off and drop off your Toonie. I look forward to seeing you there.

REMINDER: Donating Ukrainian Crisis Appeal

We’ve now stepped into April, and it’s time to start donating to the Ukraine Emergency Appeal through the Red Cross with our Food Bank and our 50/50 until the end of May.

For the Food Bank, it will be monetary donations only (cash or cheque). No Food. Food donations will still go to the Elmvale and Wasaga Food Bank as usual so continue bringing that in as well.

Instead of half of the 50/50 going to the Club, we would like to donate that portion. The Red Cross was matching donations until they reached $30,000,000. And this has already been achieved. They aren’t sure whether the Government will offer matching contributions again, but we feel Red Cross is a great organization to support Ukraine.

Thank you for your anticipated support of this emergency appeal.

Its Time To Think About Mini Putt

Judy Wagner has volunteered to run Ladies Mini Putt once again. The first thing on the agenda is to find out how many people are interested in playing.

Would you please let us know by sending an email to info@bayshoreseniors.ca with the Subject line reading: Mini Putt. Once Judy has an idea of how many are interested in playing she can then start negotiating pricing.

Thanks for your prompt attention to this matter.

Conveners – Green Financial Books

Each year we ask our Conveners to complete their “Green Financial Binder” by year end.  As we really didn’t have much going on for the past couple of years, you do not need to complete, or hand in at the end of March.

However, for March 2022 – March 2023 please keep an accurate record of your spending, etc. as we will be collecting them for this year, March 2023. The monies you have now, will be the balance you start with this year. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me at info@bayshoreseniors.ca.

Thank you,.

the Boys from Bay Shore, Plus One

Bill Brown bought us a new picnic table of composite plastic (round six seaters) for the backyard. It was so heavy we needed four or five strong men to move it from his trailer to the backyard Sunday afternoon – and of course, it was a snowy cold blizzard.

Thank you, Bill, for hunting down the perfect table in Orillia. And, a big thank you to Greg Manion, Steve Bucknam, Bill, and Judy Cabell’s son Vince!  A couple other strong guys were on the list to help, but the Boys from Bay Shore, plus one, got it rolled out of the trailer and onto the cement slabs before it was even time to meet.

We are getting ready for our BBQ, Corn Roast, and whatever else we pull out of our sleeve to enjoy in our lovely backyard.

Successful Morning At The “Hug A Mug”

The “Hug A Mug” Cafe was a big success this morning.

We had 14 people, did I count that right Judy? Yes, I believe we had 10 members and two prospective couples (who added to our morning) drop in for a delicious cup of coffee, or tea and snacks.  In fact, Lynn knew one of the couples. Small world!

The chatter and laughter never stopped.

Lots of fun, and a great way to start your morning – it’s even worth getting up a little early for 😉

Congratulations Lynn!

We Are Still Protecting Our Seniors

To help protect our vulnerable, Bay Shore Seniors are to continue wearing masks at all times. We will readdress this at the General Meeting in April. This will give us a chance to see how Simcoe County does after March break.

Thank you for understanding and co-operating.
